The Financial Times 2024 ranking of the best Masters in Management (MiM)<\/strong> has just been revealed, confirming once again the dominance of French schools. With 24 schools ranked, France is the best represented country<\/strong>, confirming the academic excellence of its schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time in 12 years, 6 French schools have made it into the world’s Top 10<\/strong>, with some notable performances. HEC Paris<\/strong>, which dethroned the University of St Gallen<\/strong> in 2023, slips back one place this year to second place worldwide. However, there’s a pleasant surprise in store: INSEAD<\/strong>, a newcomer to the ranking, takes third place worldwide and second place in France<\/strong>, dethroning ESCP<\/strong>, which slips back to sixth place worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EDHEC Business School<\/strong> makes spectacular headway, moving up 7 places<\/strong> to fourth place worldwide<\/strong>, making it the third best French school<\/strong>. According to EDHEC Director Tristan-Pierre Maury, this is a truly \u201chistoric breakthrough\u201d, thanks in particular to the differentiated career paths offered by the school, in line with business expectations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notable setbacks for some institutions in the FT 2024 ranking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Conversely, other schools saw their position deteriorate. ESCP dropped two places to sixth in the world<\/strong>, while ESSEC fell five positions to tenth<\/strong>. These declines mark a transition year for these Parisian institutions, which are still dominant, but less so than in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for emlyon business school<\/strong>, it loses just one place, coming in eighth worldwide<\/strong>, relatively stable compared with the previous year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong growth in schools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some French schools stand out for their strong progress. I\u00c9SEG School of Management<\/strong> climbs 9 places<\/strong> to 23rd worldwide<\/strong>, thanks in particular to significant improvements in the carbon footprint and career services criteria. SKEMA Business School<\/strong> is also back in 30th place worldwide, after having been absent from the ranking in 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New entrants and absentees from the FT 2024 rankings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This 2024 edition welcomes some notable new entrants, such as INSEAD<\/strong> and EM Strasbourg Business School<\/strong>, ranked 3rd and 66th worldwide<\/strong> respectively. However, some schools such as EM Normandie, ISC Paris and INSEEC<\/strong> remain absent this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

European schools have performed extremely well in the world rankings of the best Masters in Management. Indeed, in the TOP 10, we find 9 European institutions<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FT 2024 ranking methodology<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Financial Times asks schools wishing to be ranked to present their program and have at least EQUIS or AACSB accreditation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After pre-selecting schools for the FT 2024 ranking, the Financial Times asks schools to complete two surveys: one by the school itself and another by its alumni graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Financial Times defined 19 criteria<\/strong>, weighted as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Alumni salary 3 years after graduation (16%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
  • Salary progression between graduation and the date of the study (10%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

  • Return on tuition investment (6%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
  • Internationality of the program through internships and exchanges (6%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
  • Internationality of graduates’ careers (6%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
  • Alumni achievements (5%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
  • Percentage of women on faculty (5%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

    The FT 2024 ranking confirms the excellence of French schools, with a majority of them in the world’s TOP 10.
