Founded in 1973 by 7 BCG (Boston Consulting Group) alumni, Bain &amp; Company now has 59 offices in 27 countries. Considered one of the three most prestigious firms in France, McKinsey is firmly rooted in the French economic landscape through its two offices in Paris and Lyon. Even if this drastically reduces the number of profiles, these three firms attract the best students in the country. In fact, the three firms are engaged in a war for talent to satisfy their recruitment needs. <o:p><\/o:p>For example, BCG&rsquo;s Paris office receives <b>4,000 applications a year<\/b>. This figure is far exceeded by McKinsey, which receives around <b>5,000 applications a year<\/b>. <o:p><\/o:p>To recruit the best talent, each firm has its own specificities.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\"><b>BCG organizes three rounds of interviews<\/b>. Each time, the pattern is the same. It starts with 45 minutes with a project manager or partner to understand the candidate&rsquo;s interest in the firm and his or her background. This is followed by a simplified case study based on a real-life situation. We strongly advise you to ask your interviewer questions!<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\"><b>At Bain<\/b>, the first interview begins with a 30-minute test of the candidate&rsquo;s calculative and analytical skills. This is followed by a case study and an interview with a line manager. The other two rounds again involve a case study on a concrete subject.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">In contrast, <b>McKinsey organizes only two interviews<\/b>. At the first interview, the candidate meets with two consultants for approximately 50 minutes. Salaries for junior positions, between 0- and 3-years\u2019 experience, can range <b>from \u20ac45,000 to \u20ac60,000 per year<\/b>. For senior consultants, salaries can range <b>from \u20ac60,000 to \u20ac90,000 per year<\/b>. Consultants with over 8 years&rsquo; experience earn <b>around \u20ac130,000 or more per year<\/b>. Finally, the salary of a partner (the highest-ranking associate) is <b>between \u20ac130,000 and \u20ac1,000,000 a year<\/b>.
